The Sims Hogwarts Wizarding World Harry

In order to celebrate the holiday season, Universal Studios Hollywood has transformed the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section of the park into a Christmas wonderland. There have been numerous additions to Hogsmeade village in order to give it that holiday flair, and top among them was a dazzling light projection show that transforms Hogwarts castle into something, well, magical. Hogwarts castle overlooks Hogsmeade village and houses the premiere ride, Harry Potter and Forbidden Journey, but from November 24, 2017 through January 7, 2018, theme park attendees can gather around for a new light show, The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle. Festive music mixed with that ominous/whimsical Harry Potter tune played as the entirety of the castle was repeatedly transformed. At one point it was encased in beautiful blue ice; ghostly carolers sang songs and danced in the air; and a full array of Christmas decorations suddenly appeared. Owls and floating lanterns could be seen flying across the castle walls.

Fred and George Weasley even made an appearance to wrap the castle in advertisements for their joke shop. You don’t really know what to expect when you hear that Hogwarts castle is going to light up with a bunch of images, but it was quite the entertaining show with plenty of cool little touches and big moments to keep the fun going until the explosive end where real fireworks go off. Honestly, the fireworks were unnecessary given how mesmerizing and downright gorgeous the light show was. Click through the slideshow gallery below to take a look at the light show, as well as the festive decorations, seasonal food, and holiday merchandise. It should be noted that Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle are always coated in fake snow so they have that majestic winter look all year round, so the only new additions for the holiday are the wreaths and ribbons and such.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, an attraction that opened Friday in the Universal Studios Orlando theme park, delivers thrilling rides and authentic comestibles based on Rowling’s incredibly popular books. But as you’re sipping a butterbeer waiting to take a spin on, take a close look around you. The castle corridors of Hogwarts and the shop windows of Hogsmeade aren’t just filled with magical-looking junk from a Universal prop house. Crafty designers have scattered Harry Potter Easter eggs all about, filling the park with little details designed to reward observant fans.

Some are almost impossible to miss, but others require a keener eye to spot. Here’s what we found as we explored. On the highest shelves in Zonko’s Joke Shop. Where’s it from? Fred and George Weasley pulled off this ultimate prank to wreak havoc on horrible Hogwarts headmaster Dolores Umbridge, right before they quit school to open their own joke shop in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
